Marquee wedding in Hampshire
There was something quite special about Sophie and Dan’s wedding – loved being there to share their day! Sophie and Dan’s wedding at Crawley Church, Hampshire was amazing!
It was back in October last year when I first met Dan & Sophie and connected with them straight away. I was delighted when they decided to book me to take their wedding photographs. Having met at school when they were 15, how special it would be to take their wedding photographs. It was lovely to take their pre-wedding photographs with Lucas and Nancy a few months ago; I knew taking their wedding photographs would be very special.
I love taking bride getting ready photographs but there is a closer connection when I get to take the bride getting ready photographs at the bride’s parents home. Sophie’s parents were fantastic and made me feel so welcome. I could tell that Sophie was very close to her parents and loved the little gifts that she gave them… Loved the chilli sausages made by Sophie’s dad on the morning of the wedding. Whilst I was taking the bride getting photographs, I was sure that Nkima, the second photographer, was having a fabulous time with the boys. Even though Daniel was really nervous Nkima was able to get some great fun shots of the guys and I love the jumping shot she captured of the boys.
Lucas made me smile; loved his little brown shoes and how he wanted his grandad to wear matching brown shoes. Lucas was determined not to wear a buttonhole flower. James Bond wouldn’t wear a flower so why should he. No one was going to persuade him otherwise. Nancy was gorgeous and love her little pink flower girl dress; one of my favourite photographs is Nancy hiding in Sophie’s veil.
Sophie’s bridal flowers looked amazing; Jane from Flowers By Jane Reidy looked amazing. I loved the pastel shades – absolutely stunning. I love the photograph of Sophie’s bridal bouquet with her beautiful Dune shoes. Sophie gave the bridesmaids Dune handbags which matched her Dune shoes. Loved Sophie’s bridesmaids; there was definitely a very close friendship between Sophie and her bridesmaids. Sophie looked absolutely amazing in her wedding dress; her wedding dress was a Justin Alexander 8751 – she looked absolutely stunning.
Sophie’s dad’s pride and joy, apart from Sophie of course, is his classic vintage Jag and it looked amazing polished up ready to take Sophie to the Crawley Church. St Mary’s church in the village of Crawley was beautiful and the vicar was amazing. She was a bit of a hit with the children when she brought out chocolates as part of sermon. The best man was quite nervous but she was amazing at making him feel relaxed. A beautiful wedding ceremony!
After the wedding ceremony it was back to Sparsholt for their marquee reception; the marquee looked fantastic – I loved the little details; dancing shoes, sweetie jars, beautiful flower decorations, the knitted bride and groom toys… absolutely beautiful. We had almost finished the group photographs when Sophie and Dan were called away; their little girl Nancy had fallen over and cut her head quite badly so an paramedic was called. The emergency services were brilliant and Nancy was soon back to the party enjoying herself.
The sunshine in the evening was amazing and loved the warm golden light of the evening; perfect for a campsite fire outside the marquee. As a photographer, I love the photographs taken in between to the afternoon and evening reception; the guests are really relaxed and now having fun. The taxi photo booth from Posh Photobooths was amazing. One of my favourite photographs is of the three little girls ready to let the balloons go.
The band Decade from Tailored Entertainment was amazing; there was definitely some energy on the dance floor. I love the bride and groom first dance photographs and also bride and father of the bride photographs.
As a wedding photographer Sophie and Dan’s wedding is one that will always be very special to me. I love the photographs I captured and am so pleased that Dan and Sophie loved them. I have no doubt that Sophie and I will keep in touch!
